Trigger
03:25

|

Heading fast about to fall.
Sinners’ ticket, winners’ call.
Hidden grin for little fair.
The folks around you stop and stare
“Sorry speaker in the stand,
with the blood all in your hands,
wicked humour does it figure?
‘Hold your fire’
then pull the trigger!
Pull the trigger.
Send our kids just out to war.
Tomorrow’s future out the door.
But for reasons undefined,
a sorry futureleads the blind.
“Sorry speaker in the stand,
with the blood all in your hands,
wicked humour does it figure?
‘Hold your fire’
then pull the trigger!
Pull the trigger.
Politicians’ field day fun,
paid in blood just by our young.
Taking stock of you senses.
Playing hard on your defences.

Believe It
02:48
|
|

There’s a war going down
on the outskirts of town,
can you hear it?
Like a kick in the teeth
leaving you so weak,
you can feel it.
“Did you hear the people cry?
Did it ever cross you mind?
The people on the inside,
got nowhere to go”
like so many before
that you chose to ignore,
perished on the land
that you reap to sow.
You better believe it.
There’s a riot on the strip
But who’s in the thick of it?
Can you hear them?
Like so many broken homes
for all of the unknowns
who are needing.
“Did you hear the people cry?
Did it ever cross you mind?
The people on the inside,
got nowhere to go”
like so many before
that you chose to ignore,
perished on the land
that you reap to sow.
You better believe it.

Cheque from God
03:58
|
|

Here’s a story
about a poor man
with a heavy heart
and a poor mind.
Selling papers
on the corner of the street,
begging for food
to anybody he’d meet.
He was cool, he was kind.
He had ideas but didn’t have the time.
Then one day,
just before eve,
found a dollar bill
on the corner of the street.
Cheque to no one but himself:
“Must have come from God!”
how loud he yelped
He was cool, he was kind.
He had ideas but didn’t have the time.
Cheque from God.
Dressed in the finest
tuxedo and shoes,
he drank downs
in the best bars in town.
He was happy
to have a cheque from God;
saved his life
and his heart.
He was cool, he was kind.
He had ideas but didn’t have the time.
Cheque from God.

Completely
02:26

I’ll take a holiday
Somewhere hot out in the USA.
Away from the folks who like to play
with their emotions that they hide away.
‘Quit telling lies’ they tell me.
‘One day at a time’ they tell me.
Have you made your mind up lately?
Don’t lose that thought completely, yeah.
Completely yeah.
I’ll take a busy road,
head out west to find my soul
on a trip into the unknown-
I paid the price and I paid the toll.
‘Quit telling lies’ they tell me.
‘One day at a time’ they tell me.
Have you made your mind up lately?
Don’t lose that thought completely, yeah.
Completely yeah.

Leavin' Today
03:53
|
|
||
Head like stone on the wall
since you been gone;
heart’s beaten down
since you went away.
Dreaming every day, thought of you:
things you say, things you do.
But I’m leavin’ today, I’m leaving you.
But I’m leavin’ today; found someone new.
Times we had weren’t so bad,
but broken hearts leave sad.
Now you’re gone, you never changed.
Told you twice, but we remained.
“Try all you like to get your own back at me”
There’s nothing left to say... So won’t you please leave today?
