about

‘Laniakea’ is a 40-minute excursion into the depths of the human experience, guiding the listener through hallucinatory tributaries about our life in the supercluster Laniakea, the immeasurable heaven home to our planet.
It was recorded to tape within a two-day time frame, thus embracing the beauty of imperfections and capturing the energy of the moment.

The Statue Thieves London, UK

Formed in 2012, London-based The Statue Thieves play riffs and bring in tones influenced by classic rock to create unique psychedelic textures of blues, noise and soul. Track Name: Laniakea (A New Time)
A new time is upon us
Painted on a screen
Life is once so precious
Live by as you mean
Lights are going up now
Time to set the scene

Satisfied with wisdom
Little do you seek
Looked for an escape
Forgot the things you need
Left out in the shallows
Waiting on the day
Track Name: Why'd Awake Heart
You’re a psychic CPR
Like a shot out of the dark
How did things go this far?
How’d you awake my heart?

Like Geese chase etc.
”Te-amores” plethoras
You took my life only half
How’d you awake my heart?

Why’d you awake my heart?
I was blind in the dark
But I can always restart

Gijón sea salt in our scars
To the scaring of our lives
You took my life only half
Why’d you awake my heart?

Like Geese chase etc.
”Te-amores” plethoras
You took my life only half
How’d you awake my heart?

Why’d you awake my heart?
I was blind in the dark
But I can always restart

You’re a psychic CPR
Like a shot out of the dark
How did things go this far?
How’d you awake my heart?
Track Name: 12-Page Letter
Talk is cheap, on a loosing streak
You looked for gold, and your soul got sold

Take my hand into the promised land

Twelve page letter
Twelve page letter to you
Twelve page letter...

Lightning strikes in the same place twice
On steeper pills, you’re gonna cure your ills

It’s understood, in bad there’s good

Twelve page letter
Twelve page letter to you
Twelve page letter...
Track Name: 37th Floor
From the 37th Floor
I see your face once more
Some lies are cheap
When you’re in so deep

Cheap people you ignore
Pick puzzles to explore
And lose their place
In tomorrow’s race

Innovation, memoirs of a mind
Revelation, life of a different kind

From the 37th Floor
I see the skies endure
Forgotten dreams
Become just memories

Innovation, memoirs of a mind
Revelation, life of a different kind

As we wait for little more
The rain slips through your door
You live in vain
Driven insane

Innovation, memoirs of a mind
Revelation, life of a different kind
Track Name: Sweet Valley Midnight
Sweet valley midnight
Like the sunshine on the air
Whispers I need you
Living without a care

Like the sunshine in the morning
Like sunshine in the shade
As the breeze softly shakes you
You're ok, don't delay...

Sweet valley midnight
Like sunshine on the breeze
Her words softly call you
Like the summer needs the bees

Like the sunshine in the morning
Like sunshine in the shade
As the breeze softly shakes you
You're ok, don't delay...

Sweet valley midnight
Like oceans and the tide
Her winds softly lift you
And move you to one side

Like the sunshine in the morning
Like sunshine in the shade
As the breeze softly shakes you
You're ok, don't delay...
Track Name: Between 3 & 7
Sent a mail by letter
Put a stamp on a dream
Woke up at 5:30
To chase shadows from a dream
Walk away into the light of day
Watch your whole world slip away

Took a trip across the river
Took a trip downtown
City lights ain’t pretty
When there’s no one around
Walk away into the light of day
Watch your whole world slip away

Fluorescent soldiers paint our town
And there’s nobody around
Send an army to your street
And admit you face defeat

Wide awake is the sinner
Half asleep is the song
Some do greet one another
And others don't stick around too long
Walk away into the light of day
Watch your whole world slip away

Fluorescent soldiers paint our town
And there's nobody around
Send an army to your street
And admit you face defeat
Track Name: 7-Sided Pyramid (Everything Is One)
Times getting shorter now
Minds getting taller somehow
Exit on todays, bluer blue

Rains beating through the cloud
Rainbows are high around
Life ticks on by now

Challenge what you say, for another day

Lives taken in our hands
Roads beaten, many tracks
Times ticking on now, I can see

Words written on a page
Aboard tomorrow’s train

Everything is one, the colours paint the sun
The cobwebs on the breeze
Set your mind at ease

Times getting shorter now
Minds getting taller somehow
Exit on todays, bluer blue

Challenge what you say, for another day

Everything is one, the colours paint the sun
The cobwebs on the breeze
Set your mind at ease

Sunsets are falling down
Lights sticking to the ground
Oceans so deep they fade with time

Flowers a painted frown
Skies dripping to the sound
Of the electric static crowd
Track Name: Jacob's Well
Jacob’s Well is a fairy tale
A land of dreams,
Split at the seams

One foot up in the clouds
Two eyes closed for now
Sunrise in summer town
Your mind’s tuned to finer sound

Jacob’s Well, stood as I can tell.

One foot up in the clouds
Two eyes closed for now
Sunrise in summer town
Your mind’s tuned to finer sound

One foot up in the clouds
Two eyes closed for now
Sunrise in summer town
Your mind’s tuned to finer sound
Track Name: So Much Trouble
So much trouble, we see today
Seems so sad things are going this way

But as people we have a choice
To live as one or hide our voice
At any moment of given time
We can change our frame of mind

All the cynics without faith
Believe in words but it’s not too late

But as people we have a choice
To live as one or hide our voice
Any moment or given time
We can change our frame of mind
Our frame of mind

So much trouble, we’ve seen before
With the killin’ and the war

But as people we have a choice
To live as one or hide our voice
Any moment or given time
We can change our frame of mind
Our frame of mind

Listen here to what I say
A change is coming soon our way
So much trouble
So much trouble...
Track Name: Surpass (I Can Feel)
I can feel my life surpass me
Shallow rock to reconcile me
I desire a change in thinking

I can see my star collapsing
Sunsets on Mars elapsing
I desire a change in freedom

Take a leaf out of my book
And I think you’ll want to look
As horizon meets the land
I will take you by the hand
